Book Blogger Hop March 3rd - 9th

About the Book Blogger Hop

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer from Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer's permission, I relaunched the meme on February 15, 2013.

Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop's purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

This weeks question submitted by Maria @ A Night's Dream of Books

When you start reading a novel, do you prefer to be plunged right into the action, or do you prefer a slower, more descriptive introduction to the plot and characters?

Depending on the type of novel, I prefer my Fantasy and Science Fiction to get right into the action, but Mysteries, Thrillers and even Romances I like a slower thorough plot.

  1. That's interesting that you prefer slower starts to mysteries. I think more people have said the opposite. I think it would depend on the book itself. I think some are better served with quick starts and others with slower ones. I agree with you though, that for me, I like both--it depends on the book!

Thanks for sharing! I hope you have a wonderful week.

  2. I like to plunge right in, but the more I see answers, I guess it should depend on the genre. I saw another blogger mentioning about different genres need different "plunging" in. :)

I will have to see how it works from now on for me. :)

Thanks for your thoughts, and nice to see you on the Blog Hop.

    Happy Hopping!!

  3. Great post! I also think my answer to this depends on the genre of the specific book.
