Hello Fellow Reader,

Preacher book 1 is a compilation of the  Preacher comic books showcasing the issues #1-#12. This compilation starts with Jesse (The Preacher), Tulip (The [ex] Girlfriend), and Cassidy (The New Best Friend) sitting in a booth at a diner trying to have a conversation. This conversation is intermitted with flashbacks as they go through how they got to where they are now. Eventually, we are lead up to the present, where the real story of Preacher can actually begin. We find out what caused the destruction of Jesse's flock in Texas, What caused Jesse to become a Preacher, and who (or what) everyone is of course. Not all the questions are answered as it won't be until the next book where we can figure out the unanswered questions of these arcs.

Ennis does a great job of giving you a unique story that takes you on a wild ride, Each character is unique and seems to break the cliques of most graphic novels. My least favorite characters (besides the bad guys) was Tulip as she was a bit annoying, I really hope she gets better now that she isn't pestering Jesse about why he left her (There are more important things going on...) Dillon does a good job of bringing the characters into the light and allowing you to feel the emotion that Ennis is trying to convey. I am also really jealous of Jesse's hair. Those Curls.

This is a good graphic novel if you're a fan of comic books, although I will warn you that if you are religious you may want to stay away from this book.
